SIMON CRAFAR… 500cc Grand Prix winner, World Superbike rider, British Superbike rider, Extreme Enduro Champion…

New Zealand born Simon rose through the ranks nationally before pursuing a racing career overseas.  He won the Malaysian Superbike Championship in 1991 and also raced in the British Superbike Championship during the early and latter stages of his career.

Simon was a World Superbike rider from 1993-1997, scoring 10 podiums in all, and in 1998 he moved to the 500cc Grand Prix class with the Red Bull Yamaha team. This was a memorable year with 3 podiums including a dominant victory at Donington Park, and a lap record on his way to 2nd place at Phillip Island. After a short foray into extreme enduro, which saw him win the 2006 Red Bull Romaniacs event (expert class), he has returned to his roots and produced a highly effective track day orientated instructional book/dvd – Motovudu: Dark Art of Performance.

Simon is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience, and since 2006 he has worked as an instructor and as a mentor for young riders.
